This trail, which climbs Tea Creek Mountain, is a hidden gem with an adrenaline rush for avid bikers. What better way to see the beauty of the Mountain State than by riding a 1,500-foot descent into awe-inspiring scenery? Be prepared to finish your ride a little soaked as the bottom of the mountain requires you to cross the river in total mountain biking action mode. This 25 percent maximum grade loop is a must for all adventure seekers.
Head south to the New River Gorge and try a ride with Arrowhead Bike Farm. Located in Fayetteville, this local hangout spot allows you to rent equipment, bike the trails and grab a craft beer and dinner when you’re done for the day. It’s a one-stop shop for mountain biking. While in the area, try your hand at the Arrowhead Mountain bike loops. Located on the rim of the New River Gorge, these trails were designed by a professional mountain bike course developer and constructed with the help of the National Park Service and Boy Scouts of America. The trails vary based on skill level and are often populated by locals and visitors alike.
End your third day with a trip to another side of West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest. Here, you’ll be exploring North Fork Mountain, a 34-mile long ridgeline trail with knife-edge cliffs that drops 200 feet to the rugged slope below.
